Gifted Program

Gifted Education

The goal of Warren County Public Schools is to provide a quality educational

opportunity for every student to achieve his/her highest academic learning potential, develop

positive core values reflective of our community, and enter higher education and/or the

workforce.

Certain students have exceptional needs and require additional or different services to reach their potential for achievement. Gifted students are among those who require special services as both a group and as individuals. The division is committed to providing identified students differentiated instruction through opportunities for extension, acceleration, and/or enrichment.

Services begin with identification of eligible students, K-12, and proceed through differentiated

programs and opportunities as a continuum of services, for students gifted in general intellectual

aptitude (K-12).

Referral Process

The search for and identification of gifted students is a continuous process.

Referrals may be made by parents or legal guardians, teachers, professionals, or students by direct referral or through the screening process. Transfer students who have been previously identified in another school system are automatically referred, but must meet the district’s

criteria to be identified in WCPS. Referrals are accepted from September 15 through March 15.

To make a referral, please reach out to your student’s teacher, or download, complete and return the following forms to your child’s teacher:
