Welcome to Special Services
Warren County Public Schools' goal is to provide families with clear, accessible information about the resources available within our school division and throughout the community. Below, you will find links and contact information for organizations that offer services and support to students and their families.
As a parent or caregiver, you are one of the most important and influential partners in your child’s education. You are part of a collaborative team that includes teachers, administrators, and support staff. By staying engaged, asking questions, and supporting your child’s learning, you help us fulfill our shared commitment to the success of every student, every day.
Our Philosophy
All students are educated in a school community where everyone belongs and is valued. We are committed to ensuring that students with disabilities are educated in the least restrictive environment, with every effort made to support their success in the general education setting through appropriate supplementary aids and services.
Our Mission
Our mission is to prepare each student to be a contributing member of society and an active participant in our community.
Our Commitment to Partnership
WCPS recognizes that, even with the best intentions, questions, concerns, or differences in perspective may arise regarding a student's educational experience. When this occurs, we are committed to addressing those concerns through a collaborative IEP team process in which parents are valued, informed, and meaningful participants.
The student’s case manager will support the team in convening to review concerns, ensure all perspectives are heard, and work together to determine appropriate next steps based on the student’s individual needs. In alignment with Virginia requirements, families are provided with the Procedural Safeguards Notice, which outlines their rights, options, and available supports, so they can participate with confidence and make informed decisions throughout the process.
Our Special Services Department is dedicated to open communication, mutual respect, and strong family-school partnerships, with the shared goal of supporting each student’s growth and success.
As a parent or caregiver, you are one of the most important and vital factors in your child's education. You are part of a much larger team that includes teachers, administrators and support staff at local schools. By showing an interest in your children's education, and by sending them to school prepared to learn, you help schools achieve their vital mission: to support the personal and intellectual success of every student, every day.
Non-Discrimination Notice
Warren County Public Schools does not discriminate on the basis of sex, gender, race, color, national origin, disability, political affiliation, religion, ancestry, age, marital status, veteran status, genetic information or any other characteristic protected by law or based on a belief that such characteristic exists, in the education program and activities, or employment. In addition, arrangements will be made to assure that the lack of English language skills will not be a barrier to admission and participation in our school system.
